Doctoral study (Ph.D. degree)

Information for Applicants for Doctoral Study

Doctoral study is special for its emphasis on individual activities of students. It is a part of structured study system. The conditions of study are specified in Act No. 111/1998 The Higher Education Act and Regulations for Studies and Examinations at Masaryk University. In order to apply and be considered for a Doctorate Programme a student must have completed his or her Master´s Degree and demonstrate scientific work potential.

The Faculty of Education at Masaryk University offers three doctoral study programs in eight accredited study fields.

Doctoral degree programmes at the Faculty of Education can be pursued either full-time (on-campus) or part-time (off-campus).

The primary aim of a doctoral study programmes is to build a methodological foundation for either theoretical or empirical scientific work to be put in practice primarily on academic grounds as well as in scientific research institutions.

Students can study abroad with a double supervision, based on an agreement between Masaryk University and a foreign university. The degree gained abroad on such conditions is valid.
